Data Engineer

What you will do

• Be a key driver in our efforts to build a world-class data repository
• Develop and maintain architecture to onboard datasets, such as importing, cleaning, normalization and visualization
• Design profiling and validation tools to monitor, maintain, and improve data quality
• Collaborate with researchers to investigate idiosyncratic intricacies of datasets
• Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery

What we look for

• Intellectual curiosity and integrity
• Passion in organizing the world’s information and working with high volume heterogeneous data
• Knowledge in data modeling, data access, data storage, ETL processes, and database schema design
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, R, C, C++)
• Experience in databases (PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL alternatives (MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience and/or strong interest in agile software processes, data-driven development, system reliability, and reproducible experiments
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience

Note: background in finance is not a requirement. You will pick them up as needed.
